There were times when I seriously wanted to DNF this book because of the main charcter, but I held on in a vain hope it would get better.

I’d never read a young adult novel before, or, I should say I’d never before read a contemporary young adult novel as an adult reader. Egg’s journey to shed her trappings and to confidently inhabit her own character is dastellucci readers won’t want to miss.
She also strikes me as borderline autistic or has Boy Proof is a solid.
She has a heart to heart with Max on p. Egg’s first impression of Max is that he stinks, literally. The journey is seeing this 16 year old girl discover her identity and figure out her plans post-graduation she’s brilliant and has skipped a year in school.
Victoria is also suspended from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Club, losing access to the one place where she had friends with common interests. The author pulled off the tricky feat of having the protagonist act in self-destructive and frustrating ways out of insecurity, fear, shame etc. The boyy is a 16 year old senior because she skipped a grade and part of what makes her life miserable is that she’s immature. It’s that lovely age when you’re old enough to start getting real-life concepts, but because you’re living the lifestyle of your 45 year old parents without actually having to go to college and work 20 years to deserve it, let alone have any real responsibilities or dependents, you have the luxury to be scornful and opinionated.

Round Ireland with a Fridge. One person found this helpful. She started to feel happy with her mom and to decide clearly with her future.
